Catamar Fusion
Catamar is a farm-to-table restaurant in Barra de la Cruz, Oaxaca, conceived as a large open shelter facing the coast: a timber roof with deep eaves that drops toward the landscape and lets in the breeze, the light and views of the trees and the vegetable garden.
Beneath the exposed beam structure, linear skylights filter daylight onto a timber deck. Local limestone walls, folding screens and woven-fibre lamps organise the dining room without closing it, and at night the same materials shift into a warm, intimate atmosphere. The kitchen is in dialogue with the crops surrounding the pavilion.
Project developed in collaboration with Combeau Arquitectura. Architecture and interior design, including the dining furniture.
